1620
The "First Americans" landed in America between the 11th and the 21st of November. They landed in the fish hook of Cape Cod on the Mayflower.(1)(2) The Mayflower went from England to the "New World" or America. It carried 102+ passengers. There was also 36-50 crew members. The Mayflower was 180+ tons, so that means it could carry 180+ ton of stuff. This stuff included wine, wool, hats, Spanish salt, hops and vinegar to Norway. The Mayflower also whaled on there journey. The "First Americans" came and took the land from the Indians. (Pocahontas and John Smith)(3) After they took the land, they created a colony by the name of the Plymouth colonies.*

1775
On February 9, Patrick Henry delivered a speech to British rules. " Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death."(1)
On April 18, an event named the General Gage happened. 700 British soldiers were lead by General Thomas Gage to destroy the Colonist's weapon depot. This mission was successful. That night Paul Revere and William Pawes were sent from Boston to warn Colonists. "The British are coming, the British are coming."(2)This new spread like wildfire. On June 17, the first major fight between British troops broke out.(3) American troops were ordered not to shoot until they could "see the whites in the enemies eyes." There were 2000 British soldiers that stormed the hill that night. There were 400 lost American lives, these include a Colonial Leader, Joseph Warren.(4) Pictures for the 1776 portion of the timeline

1774
In October of 1774, the first Continental Congress was held. It was help in Philadelphia. There were 56 delegates representing from each colony (except Georgia). (1) There were four important people n that meeting. Patrick Henry(2), George Washington(3), Sam Adams(4), and John Hancock(5). They disgusted problems with British rules. These included the Coerives Act, Quebec Act, and many more. These many men came up with the saying, "the right to Life, Liberty, and Property.

1776
On January 5, New Hampshire assembled there first constitution.
On January 9, Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet called "Common Sense." 50 pages on how it is "Common Sense" to separate from the monarchy of King George III. On May 2, The American Revolutionaries get the much needed foreign support from King Louis XVI of France. He gave Americans 1 million dollars in arms. In June, A massive British war fleet arrived in New York Harbor consisting of 30 battleships, 1200 cannons, 30000 soldiers, 10000 sailors, and 300 supply ships. In July, The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Livingston, and Roger Sherman. The document did not get signed until August 2 when 55 members signed and passed this declaration. |
